It is important to tell our stories and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the world around us. We do this in a myriad of ways; through papers, advertisements, signs, blogs and websites. And we do it to share in all of the ways that Christ works in us and through us. It is important to tell our stories and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the world around us. We do this in a myriad of ways; through papers, advertisements, signs, blogs and websites. And we do it to share in all of the ways that Christ works in us and through us. Recently I received a phone call from a woman who had found our website and had looked through our outreach projects and discovered the “Mitten Tree”. Each year, this woman, knits dozens and dozens of toques throughout the year from left over wool that people donate to her. This year, armed with a full box of toques, the place she normally donates them politely refused. At a loss of what to do with them, she turned to the Internet and began to search and it was there she found us. She discovered St Andrew Memorial Anglican Church and our Mitten Tree and promptly called us. She offered us the box of toques and quickly drove down to drop them off. Now the amount of toques on our Mitten Tree is so numerous you can no longer see the tree for mittens and toques. By simply sharing our stories and the work we do for others, another person was able to join in walking with us on our journey on the road to Emmaus. And in walking together, sharing our stories, Christ became present in our world. So thank you Sharon Mannering, for sharing your talents and gifts us at St Andrew Memorial Anglican Church. And thank you for sharing your light and your story with us. God Bless.
